To All DPS Employees

During the last Legislative session the FOP's "Meet and Confer" bill was passed into law. All DPS employees will have the opportunity to vote and determine which employee organization will negotiate with the Department of Public Safety regarding hours and "terms and conditions" of employment.

After listening to the DPS Labor Council’s and AHPA’s presentations on DPS Meet and Confer, District 12 Troopers overwhelmingly give the thumbs up to the Fraternal Order of Police DPS Labor Council.

A non F.O.P. member stated, “At the District 12 Director's meeting in Prescott, the Vice President of the AHPA (Jimmie Chavez) stated ‘Meet and Confer is not collective bargaining’...... and they want to be my bargaining agent. I immediately joined the F.O.P. after listening to both sides.”

“The F.O.P.’s background and knowledge base in the labor arena was far superior to the AHPA’s.”
